"promotional nature" doesn't mean spam; it's things like company newsletters that people did subscribe to and generally do want to read or skim.


I still maintain that just because someone subscribed to it, doesn't make it not spam anymore. I've even found myself on a few mailing lists for not being super diligent in unchecking when I signed up for something. I can only imagine the so called "average" user.


What are you suggesting?


Basically that the entire point of something like Inbox seems to be to sift out what you want. We just don't go so far as to call stuff that you actually signed up for spam. We do want it to be easily ingored, though. And, at the end of the day, I'm not sure what the difference between my spam folder and my trash folder is. Add in my various "dumb subscription" folders, and they are basically the same.
