This whole thing wouldn't be an issue if Automattic could survive without the open source community. Matt wants his brownie points for contributing to open source but refuses to gracefully deal with the consequences. As a result, he himself could be the sole contributor to the project and it would still be a pathetic meltdown. He knew the conditions of the license when he used it, what the hell are we supposed to get mad for?

The irony, and downright gall of this statement, for those who have not been following: this entire spat began because he personally was upset that WP Engine was not providing free labor to his fake non-profit.
