Twitter is one of the platforms where you can still customize the experience pretty well. With custom lists and a third party client you can basically use it like an RSS reader if you want to.

Their API you can pretty much do anything pretty easily, especially now with the new V2 API that expose a lot of features that were not available through an API just a few months ago. For example Twitter Bookmarks.

I had a good experience using that a few months ago to build a service that sends you a weekly email of your Twitter bookmarks to your email inbox because I always forgot about them:

Or, you know, skip sharing your personal data and use an RSS reader.


To each their own. Personally I feel like I'm getting value out of following what certain people are talking about on Twitter. The time where everyone had their personal blogs that you could follow are unfortunately over.


Nitter.net provides RSS feeds for Twitter accounts.
