Why is this getting so much points/upvotes?

I've never tried Webminal (only used Linode for it's simplicity). But, it seems great. I'll probably try it out.

Sure thanks, Let me know if you have feedback.

I really like the ease of use of the site. It's also very clean. However, when you go into the Linux, there is a bit of latency (very noticeable). I know that it's impossible to remove the latency completely (it is what it is), but is there a way to slightly reduce it?

There will be little latency if you access from different region. Server located at Singapore. From India, I checked right now directly via this link https://www.webminal.org/terminal/proxy/index/ I dont see much issue. I use firefox/chrome on Debian. May be try with different browser?

How does it only work on 8gb of RAM if it serves 500k users (albeit not all 500k at once)?

Only UML is the resource consuming part kept as option available on request. Rest of them all shared Shellinabox, nginx,Flask and each active user session consumes little RAM since its a shared terminal. Simple `ls /home` shows all other users on that server!

monster yes, but also very powerful

But is this something new? Wasn't using AI for scamming around for a long time?

Scammers started using LLMs to write fishing emails, then scammers started generating images, then they started using AI to vibe code it. Its just a natural progression.

From https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47435156, we can know that India has a ~70% positive view on AI. While scammers likely didn't fill out the survey, it shows the general view on AI from where most scammers work from and live.

> it shows the general view on AI from where most scammers work from and live.

Got any citation on that? From what I've seen, the vaat majority of scams are targeted at other Indians. The government runs a significant number of cyber awareness programs nowadays; don't think they appreciate scammers.

Scamming and cheating on homework were the original use cases of AI like buying drugs and extortion were the original use cases of crypto.

Kind of hard to see the player's motion

That is kinda true, I wonder how the end will be like... 2D dragon!

Should we stop protesting the change and just accept it and adapt?

“Don’t ask questions, just consume Product and then get excited for next Product”.

I always wonder about these expensive products: Does the company make them once its ordered or do they just make them beforehand?

In this case, they're taking wire transfers, so they're definitely building them once they get the cash.

He builds a batch every few months.

I mean the difference in performance is quite big too. However, the 10,000,000 is a little bit too much (imo).

There are steel chopsticks (though not really common <-- only in Korea).

The metal chopsticks are pretty much only get used in Korea. The shape and material of the chopsticks varies by country so you can make a good guess as to where someone is from based on which chopsticks they use.
