World of Warcraft definitely takes advantage of multiple cores these days: https://wow.gamepedia.com/CVar_processAffinityMask

I know that, but wow doesn't evenly distribute processing across all cores. Run it and you will see it uses just a couple cores for rendering.

Does WOW need single core performance beyond what AMD offers? Or is this entire thread one big troll and goalpost shift?

If you want a mirror of a repository, self hosted Gogs/Gitea is a great way to do this in a way that makes you unbeholden to the upstream.

Even with HPKP, many libs/apps behave like Firefox/Chrome in this respect:

""" Firefox and Chrome disable pin validation for pinned hosts whose validated certificate chain terminates at a user-defined trust anchor (rather than a built-in trust anchor). This means that for users who imported custom root certificates all pinning violations are ignored.

Does nothing if the Chrome "Block third-party cookies and site data" is enabled, which means that setting is working as intended. :)

This can be mitigated by wrapping your whole script in parens, as in:

  #!/usr/bin/env bash
  (
    # real work
  )

Clever! Thanks for making this open source. I really like small services like this written with Lua+nginx.
