I wrote this guide following a bunch of notes I wrote while helping people setting up their systems on USB drives - plus a bit extra. Hopefully it may be useful to someone!


I always find ironic how the allegedly "communist" Chinese regime managed to create a system that basically has exploited workers for decades, in ways that are much worse than capitalistic countries. It really requires a lot of doublespeak to justify that.


Either they have a brilliant plan for accelerating capitalism until its breaking point or the party cares more about staying in power than about their ideology. We can only imagine which one it really is!


This kind of task is exactly what good old Perl was designed for.


... why not PackageKit?

pkcon is a good tool, even if a bit janky, that hides well lots of the differences between the several package managers it supports.
