I'm using external "send-only" SMTP server (Sendgrid) and Google Workspace as receiving/sending. Email itself is something that I'm not keen on DIYing (though I looked into it and other SMTP alternatives).
I do enjoy satire. At one point I was tempted to put a "JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS" sign on a drugstore window, but that's as much malicious mischief as "free speech"
X going down is a good thing. Its not just about addiction. Its about giving everyone a ham radio and allowing everyone to broadcast on the same frequency. Such a system was doomed to fail just like we saw in the early days of radio broadcasting before processes about coordinating who gets to broadcast and when became formalized.
Let me make a suggestion. A great deal of the world's problems stem from the insane concentration of wealth by a very few. Having them pay a fair share would not only only raise the standard of living for the many, but would unlock vast material and financial resources sunk into such world-destroying things as mega-yachts, private fortresses, private jets, and so on.
Just as we have collectively loosed carbon into the atmosphere, let's loose wealth (peacefully) from its vast sinks. Concentration sucks up lots of entropy, whose reduction we all pay for. (noted above)
All so that the wealthy can leave that treasure to progeny that hate them.
I see this headline all over and it's just idiotic clickbait {and a whole lot more nasty adjectives, including "lie"} to put that out there without the word SIMULATION.
I feel there's a lot of emphasis in the piece on negatives that we already know, such as the hypocritical "Board of Peace" and less on the solution.
What solution?
The author quotes Thich Nhat Hanh [0]
> To work for peace is to uproot war from ourselves and from the hearts of men and women.
When enough people turn from consumerism, racism, nationalism, and feel strongly about equality, while celebrating our individual differences, honor every individual, and act with fairness, opportunists playing the fascist playbook will not be able to take power, given the % of the population adamant against untruth (racism and division are taught), vile intention, speech and action.
Hypocrisy, the bending and breaking "the golden rule" of treating others as we would like to be treated, will be loudly and widely called out, not whitewashed.
Some Buddhists call this a "human revolution" [1]
> “Human revolution” is the term used by second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda to describe a fundamental process of inner transformation whereby we break through the shackles of our “lesser self,” bound by self-concern and the ego, growing in altruism toward a “greater self” capable of caring and taking action for the sake of others—ultimately all humanity.
Such "enlightened" people will fight (peacefully) against killing, racism, xenophobia, inequality, wars and militarism, the insane concentration of wealth, and consequent unequal opportunity and unequal access to the benefits of society: ESPECIALLY among the most vulnerable.
The fascist playbook always targets the most vulnerable, dehumanizing them.

ios is hell to use. The desktop is infinitely more productive. (to an infinite power)
Things are wildly asymmetrical. I can transform/resize an image in Files, and not in Photos. And that's just the beginning. I can get an image URL on the desktop but no holding/clicking will get it on ios. I have to "share" the image via email to get its url and scrap the email draft.
Any ios device is an expensive self-torture device.
Just keep the tank (or battery) topped up or high at all times.
Gas stations and charging stations run on (you guessed it! electricity) and where I live, trees fall on power lines and PG&E has a hair trigger on their lines as an insurance policy against actually making them safer ( helicopters run checks now and then) But not to digress, it's not paranoid to keep stuff topped up, to carry cable chains and a jumper cable.
The gauge always seems to work, even if it's a dumb float.

If anyone has a vibe-coded solution to the perennial Subaru "Your windshield washer tank is empty" when it's damn full, problem, let me know. Otherwise, it involves creeping under the car, and messing with the world's worst liquid sensor. I'm a bit old for such shenanigans, and it involves the usual "tech" problem of "It takes $300 to fix a $2.00 POS sensor that the cost-cutters thought was cool."
> sudo ufw default deny incoming
Seriously, what does one do when accepting connections, given the onslaught of data-hungry bots out there?
I wouldn't want to deal with that in any upcoming planned servers and services.
