And you wouldn't love a new set of PDP-11 switches?

As of now, LibreOffice is equal to, if not better, then OpenOffice as it was only forked off of it about 4 months ago. If you're already using OO.o then switching to LibreOffice will be a snap and you won't have to worry about Oracle.

Do you have any idea about the future of these products?

I recommend Terminus. It's easy on the eyes and looks great in smaller sizes

It's good to know there's still interest in GNUstep. You barely ever see work with it or on it any more, Sony's work being a rare exception and only temporary.

My understanding is that the audio processing done by shazam is done mostly on linux boxes running GNUstep.

Hackety-hack is a wonderful piece of software for teaching programming. Take it from me, it's how I learned a lot of beginning knowledge.

I would personally recommend boxing, or fisticuffs if you're feeling fancy, since it requires just as much discipline as any Eastern martial art (I also did kenpo karate and Taekwondo for 2 years) and I've found works better for actual defence. Besides that, there's very little of the mysticality that is often found in Eastern martial arts. But remember, to each their own. Try out different ones. Find which one fits you.
