Job was for C++ implementing signal processing code with SIMD optimizations. He couldn't unpack RGBA from a long.
I've also seen Matlab shitheads who couldn't do it in C either, so it goes both ways.
The point of mentioning that wasn't to "neener neener" a recent grad it was to open the greater discussion you see here regarding CS trends.
Caltech is brutal and spending five years there without touching C seems... odd. How can you spend half a decade driving past the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the way to Trader Joe's and not pick up the skills to get an interview with SpaceX?
The world is changing and the NYC case is only the first of many in the next 51 days. What will you do in the next 51 days if that is all we have left???
The world is changing, and it may be our fault. Are you looking to solve the global climate change in under 2 months, or are you saying "this is proof that The End Is Upon Us" (oh look, post-hoc forecasting!)? IIRC, we have survived about 10 Ends Of The World in the past decade; color me unimpressed.
It's amazing what some companies ask you to send via email. The inherent trust people put in email systems is honestly scary. envex seems not worried if someone has their eye color or height. I can promise you every bit of information someone can obtain on you IS useful.
Dear AirBnB,
Sending utility bills and drivers licenses over email is NOT appropriate!!!
This makes me want to pentest AirBnB and find their vulnerabilities before someone evil does....

My state allows people to cast ballots via email.
During the hearing, some retired National Guard General testified that "security has gotten really good". I assume he's on the payroll of the vendor, but I didn't bother to check (this time).
